The state Department of Water Resources has claimed that more than 1,700 acres, or about 80% of the property, benefits delta smelt. Thomas Birmingham, general manager of Westlands, has said the district bought the property because it was “an ideal location for restoration of tidal marsh habitat.” The Westlands Water District bought the property in 2007 and has done restoration work at the site by grading the land, removing concrete infrastructure and digging new tidal channels and swales. ![]() GOLDILOCKS LAND OF STORIES SERIESState and federal agencies that operate the two major water projects pumping from the delta have been supporting a series of habitat restoration projects as they work toward a requirement to restore at least 8,000 acres of tidal marshes to mitigate the ecological harm caused by water diversions.Ī large portion of that requirement could be satisfied by the property southwest of Sacramento - called the Lower Yolo Ranch Tidal Habitat Restoration Project - if federal wildlife officials agree with claims by state and federal water agencies that much of the property should receive credit as tidal marsh that benefits endangered delta smelt. The dispute over the roughly 2,100-acre property centers on questions about which lands should be counted as tidal marsh habitat in the delta, one of California’s primary water sources. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The default value of 2 tiles-per-thread performs best overall.

This $20 item is like the Electric Daisy Carnival version of Cousin Itt.Ī third vending machine has been “defaced” by the resistance, and features a “propaganda” monitor. The items in the vending machines are quirky and difficult to describe, much like Omega Mart, actually. We are a longtime resident of this particular zone. We spent $5 on a piece of art because Las Vegas artists need all the help they can get. Art vending machines are also a thing at Cosmopolitan. The machines have art from local Las Vegas artists. Speaking of art, the new display has two functioning art vending machines. Props to the imaginary resistance sticking it to the imaginary The Man. Long story short, there are those who are doing battle against Dramcorp, and those rebels had a hand in “defacing” the vending machines in Omega Mart’s “Mega Art Zone.” The resistance movement against Dramcorp is called Monolith.Īnyway, that explains why the artwork in the new “Mega Art Zone” looks more like vandalism than traditional art. The folks at Omega Mart (Meow Wolf) have created an elaborate story around Dramcorp, and there’s even a Web site for the non-existent company that sounds like it’s up to no good. ![]() Part of the Omega Mart story involves a company called Dramcorp. We just loved it more during our next visit when we went down the rabbit hole of the storytelling. On our first visit to Omega Mart, we missed the “story” part of the attraction. The green money tubes were inside Omega Mart from day one, now there’s a backstory around where the money’s coming from (it’s being sucked from the vending machines below). You can read more of our unapologetic cheerleading about Omega Mart here. It’s part art museum, part twisted grocery store, all with a story that adds layers of enjoyment to the experience. Here’s one of the best descriptions we’ve seen of Omega Mart: “Omega Mart is like if Disneyland had a love child with Tim Burton.” We should know, that’s how we described it. ![]() One of the challenges of Omega Mart has always been describing it. The extension of Omega Mart’s exterior serves a number of purposes: It gives guests a glimpse into the “lore” of Omega Mart, supports local artists, generates revenue and subtly pays homage to one of the co-founders of Meow Wolf (the company that brought Omega Mart to Las Vegas) who recently passed away, Matt King. Welcome to Omega Mart, where nothing is what it appears to be, unless it appears to be weird, in which case, yep, that’s Omega Mart. The “Mega Art Zone” is described as being the first major exhibit expansion since Omega Mart opened on Feb. Omega Mart recently added a new art display outside its venue at Area 15, dubbed the “Mega Art Zone.” The attraction we dubbed “The Best Non-Gambling Thing To Do in the History of Las Vegas” just got even, well, bester. ![]() ![]() ![]() The overall goal of paradoxical intention With the use of paradoxical intention, therapy can encourage a patient to do what they’re afraid of (Frankl, 1984). The paradoxical intention technique seeks to confront the patient’s common sense. In other words, beyond contradicting conditions, the presented factors are valid, real, or possible. A paradox, from the Latin word paradoxus (that also has a Greek origin), consists of using contradictory expressions. To define this technique, let’s assume that a paradox is something opposite of what we consider true. In cognitive behavioral therapy, paradoxical intention is the cognitive intervention that is used to overcome the resistance to change. The game is winnable without any upgrades, but it is more aimed around people who have at least the first levels of those upgrades to give them a boost. Generally I don't think the balancing of the game is in a terrible place, but specifically yakkapult is a big outlier and does need to be toned down. Originally posted by HeliosAFlame:I should clarify here that I am a dev on the game despite no fancy color. The rate at which this boss and the catapult spawn new stuff (every other round to be precise) really makes me question if anyone playtested this game. This game (and the catapult just proves my point) has a big issue with devs not knowing when to stop spawing additional adds to make a fight artificially difficult. I had a pretty solid bleed build but whenever that lizard came back, it was magically cured of all debuffs which is totally absurd. This is not game balance, this is just lazy. When I tried this boss, I had my best deck so far and eliminated around 500hp before being wrecked by some unlucky draws and 3 x 30 damage to the face. Oh yeah, and this can happen multiple times (and it will). It spawns a dragon spirit that is extremely buffed and then spawns another monster (with 100HP! while having 200HP itself!!!) which it escapes in. ![]() Ok so this boss starts with a relatively easy fight which turns out to be possesed. Is it this guy only until you beat the game once? Because in that case I'd ditch all efforts to play a build that relies on playing many cheap cards on my first run. Now I've managed to face a(?) final boss 2 times (the black tentacle thingy that makes your cards cost one more). I've managed to beat the dragon boss now because I didn't use bleed (PLEASE make it so it keeps the bleeding stacks! This boss alone shuts down bleeding builds). ![]() ![]() ![]() Many of them had to do with all the ways in which DOOM improved on what were some pretty obvious touchstones they lifted from New Order to make for a more fluid, dynamic experience, while others had to do with the oddly sloppy way the game handles going in and out of cutscenes and the outstandingly uninteresting and amateur way those cutscenes are directed. I played The New Order my first time around with it, last summer after DOOM, on the medium difficulty and had a hard time getting into a groove with the game for a variety of reasons. It takes away some frustration when you die from some bullshit scenario. THE NEW COLOSSUS WOLFENSTEIN WIKI PCI'm so used to playing FPS games on PC quick saving every 10-15 minutes or so. Also grenades are fucking powerful.ĮDIT: I'm super glad they put in a quick save in the PC version for this, which they did not do for The New Order if I remember correctly. Find good cover and a good distance, make good use of the ability to lean out of cover, and just take potshots and keep yourself out of harms way. If that fails, which it often does for me, I just play it like a cover shooter 90% of the time. What I learned from New Order though is to always try and go for the stealth approach, taking out the commanders is super important. I'm still playing on Bring Em On difficulty but I'm only a couple of hours in. This game is worse though because as many others have mentioned, the feedback on taking damage is not clear enough. THE NEW COLOSSUS WOLFENSTEIN WIKI TRIALThere were some specific sections that were just straight up unfair or just kind of trial & error like in their design. The New Order had similar issues despite the feedback being better. Also, the enemy does approximately the same thing every time you re-try, unless you do something different. Dual wield assault rifles take down the big guys surprisingly quick. Last battle just now was me finding an angle and killing everyone who approached, including the Commander, the one guy working the mounted laser was my only distance kill. Run and gun is simply no way, for my skill level anyways. Tips, reload every chance, and headshots work wonders on everything so far. Also ammo pick up hitting E can be jittery. But hey, it may change.ĮDIT- complaints, even the guys in what I call English t shirts are bullet sponges, kind of ridiculous. But I kind of know when I am too exposed/taking damage, and the guns sure feel like you are firing something. I hit rough patches, and I have done that keeling over bit a few times also. Afterwards I saw that there was venting all over the place for me to pop in and out of. In one section I just stayed behind a fence plate on the second floor, and got them all with no damage. For normal (Bring it on) there is a ridiculous amount of guns, ammo and health all over the damn place. I don't complain because hey, I know what that would get me.īut I am oh, 2 hours in, not too far distance wise because it's me, but I'm making progress. ![]() I'm enjoying the game but I have the same complaint a lot of people had from the New Order which is I wish this game played more like DOOM and less like Far Cry. I played The New Order and The Old Blood on "I Am Death Incarnate" because I thought it sounded cool and made me feel like a badass but since that's now the ultra hard difficulty I doubt i'll be doing that with this game. Which I tend to take advantage of during the stealth sections, which I suck at. Third tip, make use of the ability to save anywhere. Second tip, running and gunning is good for when you need to relocate and it's the most satisfying way to play but also the most dangerous. I'm playing on Hard and just did the bit where you save the resistance woman with the child and found that strategy helped. ![]() First tip, when you're outnumbered find a wall and use the lean to pop out as if it were a cover shooter, it takes them a good two to three seconds to register you're there so if you take them out in that time then you'll be alright. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Science explorer weather and climate ( Prentice Hall Science Explorer ).
